The two Practice Based Commissioning (PbC) groups within NHS North East Essex area have identified referrals management as one of their key objectives. It has been established that rapid, real-time access to information is a critical component in successfully achieving this objective. This section of the EQUIP Website contains a variety of information, links and resources for clinicians in NHS North East Essex to assist them in their clinical decision-making. EQUIP have been working closely with NHS North East Essex since March 2007 with regard to streamlining the referral process in order to achieve maximum use of expertise and resources and to meet the Department of Health 18 week pathway target .
